This is Brendan Stacy with Let's Wine with Brendan Stacy, and we're back with a Father's Day episode. We have Father's Day coming up on us on Sunday. Yeah, here before you know it, June's almost over.
SPEAKER_01What the hell happened to this year? Um, but you know, that's a whole nother episode. What the hell's happened to this year? We don't know. I don't know either. But yeah, we need to give a shout out to the dads out there who uh make life happen. You know, I would have to give it up for my daddy, love him to pieces. I'm his person, he's my person. I love how relationships evolve. You know, we're more like friends now. Right. You know, it becomes more of a, you know, friendship than a father and daughter. You know, it's like we almost have our own love language. You know, that kind of connection makes me just love him to pieces.
SPEAKER_00Do you have any stories of when you were little?
SPEAKER_01When I was little, he would come and get me and take me to dinners a lot of time on Friday nights. And I loved red lobster. Okay. Uh-huh. I love red lobster. So I always felt fancy. I know biscuits. I always felt fancy with him because I would get popcorn shrimp. Ooh. And he would also allow me to order a drink like a Shirley Temple or a strawberry daiquiri. You know. Without the Virgin. Yes. A virgin. Strawberry Daiquiri. Or a virgin. Shirley Temple. I always thought I was the fanciest little girl in the world. So that, and then of course, you know, my Sans and I've talked about her before. She came along and, you know, was in his life and made it even better for us. Good. Because, you know, she uh always supported our relationship and was there through a lot of it thick and thin, which my dad's been there thick and thin. Even when I was younger, he would teach me things and make me a better adult. But it wasn't like he was like, and then I also have to give a shout-out to my Papa John. He has um been in my life forever too. And um, you know, love him to pieces. Him and my dad both love my babies to death. And to me, that's like you love my babies, your aunt for life. So um, but anyway, I've been very blessed in the like I've been blessed in the mom department. I've been blessed in the uh daddy too.
SPEAKER_00Are you looking forward to your sons being fathers one day?
SPEAKER_01I think one of the reasons I would love that for them is because then and only then I feel like they appreciate how hard parenting is. Right. When they're in it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's a whole different ballgame. That's another ballgame. And there's a lot of mothers out there too that deserve a happy father's day because they're doing it alone. Yeah, we did for a lot of years. And I know step in and be dad too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so it happens, and um, yeah, kudos to everybody who did all the things. I know I know you've been blessed with some good son-in-laws that are good to their babies.
SPEAKER_00Sons-in-law.
SPEAKER_01Sons-in-law.
SPEAKER_00Yes, there are three of them. And one of them's a dad to fur babies, and that's okay too, because those animals are adorable. There's tulip, Todd, and pig, which is a dog and two cats. Yeah. They love him. And we love them. I know. Love tulip. Tulip. Okay. Old tulip. Tulip has an outfit for every occasion. I love her. All right. And then there's Brian. And Brian came into Christina's life a little later, which I'm glad he came with kids already, which is perfectly fine. And Christina has stepped up on that, and I think that's adorable. And that's Tracy and Jason. And they're really neat kids, and they're grown up now and graduating and doing their thing. I know. I know it goes fast. And then um, there's Josh. God love Josh. We love Josh, but Josh has been there for the long haul. Yeah, since high school. We have loved Josh since we made him dress up like a girl. We did. We put him in a dress. We thought we had to see if he could hang. He made it. He made it, yes, and he's the father of Lily and Lark that I talked about, my grandkids. Yeah. Yeah, he's a good dad. He's an amazing dad. Watching him in action with them is like, yeah, that's how you do it. My son-in-law is Central Florida outdoors and he makes fishing videos. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01And they're entertaining. Yeah. They're they're like, I mean, if you like fishing, that's your thing.
SPEAKER_00I'm sitting here thinking I watch his videos about as much as he probably listens to us. To our podcast.
SPEAKER_01We can say Josh is a hottie, no secret. Oh, yeah. We've talked about that before too. Camille's a lucky lucky girl.
SPEAKER_00She is.
SPEAKER_01Does she know how lucky lucky?
SPEAKER_00I think so. I think that all came about that um time. I don't know if we've mentioned it or not. Our trip to Cypress Gardens when he looks so good. Oh, yeah, we did bring that up. We have talked about that. That just has always stuck. It's like, how can somebody be wet and sweaty and still look good and want to go out while the rest of us just look like we've been climbing in down to dumpsters?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, welcome to Camille's life. That's our hubby Josh. I know. But yeah, he is a good dad. I know for a fact uh Lily and Lark will look back and have the fondest memories of him and Camille. Josh and Camille being good parents. And that's that's important.
SPEAKER_00I need to find out what the kids are doing for him for Father's Day.
SPEAKER_01What are the heathens doing? I want to know. They are not heathens. We have all been in our families have been blessed with good daddies, good sons-in-law, and uh all of that. I mean, uh, lucky us. And kudos to all the dads who've been awesome in their kids' lives and um they tried. Yeah, trying.
SPEAKER_00I know that says a lot. That does say a lot. When there are there are the ones that back off out there. No kidding.
SPEAKER_01We are not gonna get into anything negative. So we are going to just wrap it up with a happy father's day. All the good daddies out there for showing up, participation. Right. That's where participation counts.
SPEAKER_00Yes, a lot of them deserve a kudos for everything that they do.
SPEAKER_01You'd think in this day and age it would just, it should just in life come naturally. But it doesn't to some people. And uh I think choices are made. You have to make choices. You're either gonna be good at this or you're gonna not do it. Right. That's true. So those dads out there doing it day in, day out, who uh their 52-year-old daughter calls them and they still say, What's up, kiddo?
SPEAKER_00Is that what your dad says? Yeah, that's cute. I know. What's up, kiddo?
SPEAKER_01So I know 52. Am I not fifty two?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're fifty two. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Are you? Were you questioning? No. Seventy four to twenty twenty six is fifty two. Fifty two. Did you think I was lying?
SPEAKER_00I know. I don't know. I had fifty three, mine's trying to put an extra year on you. Just wrap it up with Happy Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to all the f dads out there. Happy, happy.
SPEAKER_01From Let's Wine with uh Brendan and Stacey. Bye.
