This is Brendan Stacy with Let's Wine with Brendan Stacy, and we just wanted to wish everybody a happy summer. We hope it's going okay. Here in Georgia, we've been having heat indexes 104, 109. It's just been ridiculous. And when I leave work, my steering wheel is hot. We just want to make sure everybody's in the air conditioning. Yo yeah.
SPEAKER_01
Surviving this outside is just, girl, I don't like it one bit. You take uh hot flashes on top of hot, hot, hot. I'm ready. I'm ready for a nice fall day. It's miserable. A winter breeze. I don't know. Give me something besides heat.
SPEAKER_00
Well, even before my 50s, I wasn't a fan of the heat. And I think you're in the same Facebook group I am, the I Hate Summer. Are you in that one? For some reason, I thought I saw your name. Maybe you just liked something that I share. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, I mean, it's hard for me to say I hate summer because I'm not anti-summer. I'm just over it. So it's not just pure hatred. It's just don't be hot and all of it. Don't be hot and we can be friends. Yeah. Don't make me hot. That's sounds good. And then we're good. But speaking of friends, I do want to be a little bit of a downer. I found out today that one of the people who coached me through my radio gears, I followed John Meader on the air in uh Florida. I'm in my radio days for decades. Every bit of my career, I followed him. He was the six to ten morning guy. And then I would come in and take over for him 10 to 3. So every day, five days a week, I would see him. But anyway, I found out uh today that he passed away. And my condolences to his family and friends. I'm sorry. I'm sure that Highlands County, Florida will probably throw a parade or some sort of huge memorial service for him. He has dedicated so much of his life. I know he was in the service bay, way, way, way, way back. And then in radio, I just appreciate everything that I learned from him. It's just sad when somebody you work so long with the end of an era. Yeah, it is. It's the end of an era. My heart goes out to Hollands County, like I said, and all the people in his family who will love and miss him.
SPEAKER_00
So I'm sorry. I know. It's hard to lose somebody that you you just think they're always gonna be there, even when you move away. Yeah. You hear they've passed away, it's hard.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, it it's really hard. John was at a lot of events that happened in my life, you know, throughout those decades. He was a very social person, and you know, he wouldn't shy away from hanging out and partying with us and all the other fun things. So it's the end of an era, so it sort of breaks my heart.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, and it's hot. It's too hot. It's too hot. It is hot, very hot. But we hope everybody's having vacations and having a good time or doing whatever it is they do. And we just wanted to put another shout out because they're starting to come in for a part two of our um assumptions. That episode's gotten a lot of hits. Oh, good. I know, and more people are starting to write in. So we're at BS Studios at myyahoo.com and we want yours. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01
We want to hear your assumptions, your what you assumed, and if you still assume it. Yeah, even better.
SPEAKER_00
Knowing you're an adult doing something crazy.
SPEAKER_01
I know. I can't believe this, too. You know, we're wishing everybody a happy holiday for if they're traveling or going on vacation. I know in the other countries they call it on holiday. School starts back before you know it. I know.
SPEAKER_00
It is around the corner. I know. Watch what you're doing, look out for those buses. I don't want to say any names, I'll just say a coworker. She got a thousand dollar ticket. They sent her the little thing in the mail and she didn't even see the school bus. And they even told her there's no way around it, and there has to be a raised median. I don't know. Maybe I'm stupid. Bear, stop for those school buses.
SPEAKER_01
I have gotten, and I'm not even this person. I'm one of those people, you know, my kids rode the school bus. Oh, yeah. So I was super vigilant about being careful. But since I've moved here, my $250 ticket, Mel to me to school bus took a picture of me. They were in a turn lane. You know, like there's a turn lane like to turn into our neighborhood. They were in that turn lane, so I assumed, assumptions, that they were going to turn into that neighborhood. Right. Well, they didn't turn into that neighborhood. They decided I guess that was the bus stop. Oh. And was their stop sign out? Their stop sign was coming out while I was flying by. Going by. Oh, okay. I wasn't flying, but I I knew it. I just felt it. I was like, I know I I have a ticket. And it bothers me because I mean it's a school bus. Right. You know, I'm not one of those people who's gonna fly around or dick around around a school bus because I don't want to hurt anybody. I'm just not that kind of person. I was so just cried, so upset because I was like, I'm not that kind of person, but I assumed that the school bus was gonna turn into that neighborhood instead of stop right there. Right in the middle of the street. Right in the middle. You see a school bus, back up, stay away.
SPEAKER_00
Just stop. I know. No matter what they're doing, just stop. Just stop. Or the tickets coming. The tickets are recording you.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, they uh yeah, they sent a picture, you know, of the Yeah, she said it was a picture and a little video. Yeah. Mine was only $250. And I paid it. I was wrong. I felt horrible. Cry. Lesson learned. Georgia, they like to get you. She was obviously in Georgia. She was Oh yeah. Yeah. So school buses back out and about. Be careful of those. I know. Look out. And of the kids. I mean, I'm definitely not making light of it, but definitely be careful of the kids and so that everybody has a happy and fun school year. Right. All the teachers going back, God bless them. God bless them.
SPEAKER_00
God, God. Lord, have mercy. Help them. Needless to say, my teacher daughter went on to get a real estate license because teaching after eight years about did her in.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, it's crazy. I'm sure she could tell us some amazing teacher stories now that she's not in it anymore. And I've heard some crazy teacher stories that I could share that just baffle me.
SPEAKER_00
Right. That's a whole nother episode. If you're a teacher, we want to hear from you too. Please let us know. Just put teacher in the subject or assumption in the subject. Yeah. Just keep it coming.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, absolutely. If you have teacher stories that can uh keep us going, I know I have some that I've heard, and I'm just like, no way, no way. But anyway, it takes a special person. Very special.
SPEAKER_00
We just wanted to wish everybody happy summer. Happy summer. Beat the heat. Party. Party while you can indoors in the AC. Yeah, so I was gonna say sit in the AC, drink a glass of wine, and forget how hot it is outside. Just forget it all. I'm hearing it's hot almost everywhere.
SPEAKER_01
It's horrible. Horrible. Miserable.
SPEAKER_00
But we will be back next week. Yeah, for sure. With another episode, and we're just gonna call it. Yeah. Wrap it. Wrap it. We want to hear from you at BS Studios at myyahoo.com on Let's Wine with Brendan Stacey. Bye.
